S.KRAUSE

Moment

In a moment of confusion
life halted, thoughts came together
and all became clear.

The clock ticked,
People, objects and thoughts moved—
but that moment of wholeness
was no longer near.

Notes: This poem, like ``Antoinette,'' was inspired by my study of German Romanticism, and though it is short, it remains one of my favorites.
